‘WandaVision’ has come to an end with the premiere of episode 9, however, the Disney + series has left several cliffhangers that will connect with the upcoming MCU productions.

WandaVision Episode 9 has arrived, marking the end of the series. Many theories were built around what was going to happen and even the director of the Disney + series, Matt Shakman, mentioned that some fans were going to be disappointed, mainly due to the absence of the long-awaited cameos that many thought were going to arise, as in the case of Mephisto or Magneto, who obviously did not show up. Despite this, several interesting disclosures were made that are worth explaining.

Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) finally had her confrontation with Agatha (Kathryn Hahn), after the latter took the former on a wild trip back in time attempting to decipher where her powers came from, something that ultimately turned out to be, Chaos Magic.

With great deception, Maximoff creates runes in the Hex to prevent Harkness from using her magic, tricking the antagonist into believing she was defeated, when in fact Wanda set a trap and reveals herself as the Scarlet Witch in all her splendor, including a breathtaking outfit, rendering her rival incapacitated.

Now Agatha will remain in Westview as an ordinary person, relieved of her powers, once again as the “nosey neighbor”, while curiosity has awaken in Wanda like never before. Surely, at some point in the MCU we will see Agatha again, perhaps, next time with Mephisto, who didn’t show up, however we did hear a devilish laugh in the background during the fight. Was that him?

The protagonist realizes the Hex is not good for the common people who live in Westview, also, it limits her to her desires, therefore, she decides to place everything back to normal, which seems extremely boring if you ask me, despite the fact that this entails saying goodbye to Vision and her children: Billy and Tommy, who were created and are merged to he energy field, because of this, vanish with it, they were part of an illusion and as such did not have a physical body in reality instead, they fed on the power of the Hex.

Marvel

Wanda finally decides to leave Westview carrying some resentment from the people she trapped in the Hex and her fate is partially revealed in the second post-credits scene. As we know, Maximoff learned a few things the hard way from Agatha which also helped her understand slightly better what she is capable of. This included her final reveal of being the Scarlet Witch, something the protagonist didn’t really understand, so in the last scene of WandaVision, we see her in a secluded home surrounded by mountains and reading the Darkhold, or as Harkness told her: Book of the Damned.

So quickly Wanda learned to “split” in two or, in other words, to falsely project herself as an ordinary person who drinks coffee and lives peacefully, while the real one is consuming, learning everything about the Darkhold. This book contains a lot of dark and powerful spells that can even corrupt those who read it. Chthon is the main author of the literary work and in the comics, he is even the power source of Chaotic Magic. A scenario could occur in which, through Wanda and her power, he returns to this plane unleashes destruction. This character is an Ancient God who doesn’t exactly have the best of intentions.

On the other hand, Wanda hears the voice of her children in the post-credits scene, something that could lead her to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It has been speculated that Nightmare is the main villain of the sequel and perhaps this scene points to him, since Maximoff may have listened to her twins as part of the antagonist’s power, causing nightmares in people. The word “nightmare” is mentioned a lot in the end of WandaVision, so maybe the essence of the twins is trapped in the reality of dreams, which might encourage Scarlet Witch to go there. There may also be a scenario in which she is again grieving for the loss of her loved ones and the voices are part of her grief, which could unleash a certain level of insanity in her.

Marvel

However, we are about to see the introduction of The Fantastic Four, Wanda reading this powerful book could simply be to prepare her to battle the next powerful villain of the MCU, perhaps Galactus? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
