As WandaVision enters its final stretch, more details about the true story are revealed, but Paul Bettany cannot yet talk about Mephisto.

Paul Bettany, who plays Vision on WandaVision, says he cannot talk about Mephisto because it could get him fired. It has long been said that the Marvel demon has already appeared on the sitcom, as well as several references about the devil have been spread out throughout the series. Still, there is no concrete indication that he is really involved, until now.

The series has only two more episodes left this season and more pertinent elements are being revealed about what is really going on in Westview. That being said, there are still many unanswered questions about the program’s overall narrative, particularly when it comes to how the anomaly really started.

There are theories circulating that while Wanda is in control of WandaVision, there is a mysterious being hidden in the shadows who is secretly manipulating her to continue living her fantasy life. Mephisto is one of the most popular characters in these speculations and Bettany’s recent comments may be an indication that this is indeed the case.

In an interview with Esquire, Bettany repeatedly talked about another surprise appearance following Evan Peters’ manifestation as Pietro, which was previously leaked. One specific theory he is not willing to discuss, however, is the possibility that Mephisto might be involved in WandaVision in any way, because doing so could get him dumped from the show.

“Screenwriter [boss] Jac Schaeffer is a real genius. I think it was a lot of fun for her to see all the fan reactions and theories, – and some of them are frighteningly accurate. But this [theory] that mentions Mephisto? I can’t talk about it right now, because I’m concerned about getting fired. ”

The first episodes of WandaVision are available on Disney +.
