And although none of these dangerous celestial rocks have dramatically collided with our planet, this one put on quite a show.

This event occurred north of England and Scotland. The meteorite impacted the atmosphere of our planet, causing an enormous explosion lighting its path, which was captured by the cameras of many residents who confessed to being frightened by this celestial spectacle.

At first, the inhabitants of the northern territories of England and Scotland did not know exactly what had caused that intense flash of short duration, recorded at about 9:20 p.m. on Thursday, February 18.

Although it is now known that the explosion in the sky was due to the entry of a meteorite into the Earth’s atmosphere, at the time of the incident many people were clueless about what it was.

Multiple residents began to speculate whether it was a military test or a plane crash. However, they did not take long to figure out that the entity responsible for the fireball had been a meteorite slamming into the atmosphere.

The International Meteor Organization and the UK Meteor Network began receiving dozens of photos and videos of the massive luminary occurrence and reported that several more meteors had been reported.
