Most of these insane theories come from animated films like Pixar studios, cartoons from the Disney company or even cult opuses that we love to watch during Christmas. Internet users have had fun developing theories so twisted that they totally ruin the magic of the plot that is so loved by our inner child. From Monsters, Inc. to Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Matilda, Home Alone, or the Little Mermaid, prepare to be shocked, but in the negative way.
Matilda is Carrie’s prequel
Do you remember the nice and sweet Matilda? Well, there’s a weird theory that she and Carrie are actually the same person. According to Danonymous84, Matilda turned into Carrie, the most famous murderer in Steven King’s universe, after the FBI captured her father, forcing her to join the witness protection program to start her life over. To do this, Matilda would have been mandated to change her name (hence Carrie), as well as to be home schooled during the first few years. A detrimental confinement for the mental health of the shy teenager who withheld her powers beyond the threshold, which however continued to intensify until the uncontrollable incident of the school.
The plague in Monsters, Inc.
According to this morbid theory, there is an obvious reason why the monsters in the movie Monsters, Inc. are afraid to touch children. According to the user Calabim on Reddit, it was because of a strange phenomenon that took place in the 1300s, when the first bubonic plague ravaged many countries around the world. And for good reason, it was at this time that the friendly monsters tried to use the portal for the first time to get to Earth. However, unaware of the epidemic that was raging at the time, they inadvertently brought the disease back to their world. An error in judgment which subsequently caused the death of thousands of monsters, explaining why they now have a phobia to physical contact.
Syndrome is Bob’s son in The Incredibles
Is the antagonist Syndrome the son of Father of the Incredibles? This is what Reddit user Elgarraz postulated on Reddit. The two figures both have blue eyes as well as a broad square jaw. According to him, Syndrome’s mother is actually a crazy groupie in love with Bob Parr, with whom he had a one-night stand. From this crazy night was born Syndrome, the hidden son of the superhero who since his childhood has done everything to grasp his father’s attention. Rejected and unloved, never succeeding in obtaining what he wanted, ends up plotting his revenge. A theory which partly explains the fierce hatred the supervillain had towards the family.
Nemo’s Death in Finding Nemo
Even more creepy than the previous one, this Finding Nemo theory will break your heart! On Reddit the user Darklighter5000 suggests that in the film, all the baby clownfish are in fact dead. The story that unfolded before our eyes was only in the imagination of Marlin, the shy father of Nemo. And for good reason, not being able to deal with the idea of having seen all his children die before his eyes after the Barracuda attack, the father falls into a deep denial bordering on madness. In order to give himself a reason to continue living, he imagines that only one egg (that of Nemo off course) survived. A theory which is based in particular on the fact that in Latin the word “Nemo” translates to “Nobody”.
The living toys don’t exist in Toy Story
This is perhaps the least traumatic theory of the lot! For Internet user Kingzilla200, the adventures of Woody and his merry band do not exist. These are all stories invented by the children, Andy and Bonnie. Scenarios imagined by them when they have fun with their respective toys. In Toy Story 2 for example, the user claims that Woody was actually sold during the garage sale. Andy’s mother, feeling very bad for her son, decides to buy him a new one. The young boy, delighted with his new Woody, then formulated the story of the toy making its way back to him.
Ariel’s mother in The Little Mermaid was a sociopath
As we know, many Disney films are connected to each other through amazing easter eggs. The Net surfer Ghtw3 understood it well and uses it happily to unfold his appalling theory. On Reddit, the user suggests that The Little Mermaid and Peter Pan cartoons share a very amazing connection. A link that would above all explain why Ariel’s mother, Queen Athena, was in fact a sociopath. And for good reason, in the Imaginary World, the mermaid with long red hair who tries to drown Wendy in the lagoon out of pure jealousy is actually Ariel’s mother. A true psychopath who loves to hurt human beings.
Kevin’s mom is possessed by the devil in Home Alone
This theory takes the prize for the biggest childhood ruined! On Reddit, Microcosm315 exposes the following theory: Kevin’s mom in Home Alone, is actually possessed by Satan. The devil wishing to expose Kevin to an ultimate test to see if he would make a worthy successor to the Underworld throne, made his family go on a journey without him. For this, he manipulated the mind of his mother so that she forgets her child, in order to test the boy under the most challenging conditions, he is also the one who sends the two demons (the two burglars) to Earth.
