A road accident was barely avoided on July 4 in California thanks to the incredible reaction from the driver in a Tesla Model 3. The electric car managed to help dodge a tire flying towards the drivers side windshield.
A video showing the ability of the Tesla Model 3 autopilot assisting the driver on a highway in California went viral on Youtube. On the shared sequence, filmed by the car’s dashboard camera on July 4 in Los Angeles, the accident was narrowly avoided.
The camera captured the moment when the autopilate quickly gives the driver the “time and view” of the tire.
According to the driver, “the car stabilized very quickly after swerving to avoid getting hit. The car kept me from flipping over and spinning out into five lanes of traffic.”
Hopefully, all vehicles will one day have the ability to help us avoid dangerous collisions. Like this one.
