A strange cyclops shark with albinism was found in the stomach of another shark in the waters of Maluku, Indonesia; the images have started go viral around the world.
Fishermen in the province of Maluku, Indonesia, had the surprise of their lives when they found a strange baby shark with cyclopia and albinism in the stomach of another adult shark that died after being trapped in the fishing nets. The strange creature, which they called “Cyclops”, had only one huge eye in the middle of its head and hadn’t really formed a pair of fins. The images have gone viral on the Internet, generating the amazement of thousands of users around the world.

One of the men involved in the unusual find, named Andy, commented that they were removing the intestine of the shark they caught when suddenly they found something strange. “We found three babies inside its stomach, but one of them looked strange with only one eye. His color was strange too, like milk,” Andy said.

Being completely confused, the group of fishermen decided to call the authorities to give them the animal, who explained that the shark probably had Cyclopia, a birth deformity that can arise in all species, and for obvious reasons, brings about an enormous handicap in the life of the organism. On the other hand, the animal also expressed albinism, which means that it developed low amounts of melanin.

It should be noted that it is not the first time a similar situation has been reported, for example, in 2011 a fisherman in America managed to mystify the media around the world by revealing a fish with the same conditions. It was a female albino cyclops shark, located off the coast of Mexico. Scientists inferred that the animal would not have survived long outside the womb.
As if that were not enough, people on social media began to comment on the one eyed shark comparing it Wasowski, the character from Monsters Inc. There is no doubt that a resemblance between the two can be seen, still, users should not lash out like this, they’re only making a spectacle of themselves.
