A fisherman went through an unusual situation. After excitingly hooking a shark, he had to fight for his prize against a huge saltwater crocodile. The battle unfolded was made 50 miles off the coast of Wyndham, a city located in Western Australia.

In the footage, which ended up going viral this week on social networks, was released by the Dogtooth Media channel, Geoff Trutwein appears to reel the fishing line when he is suddenly surprised by the arrival of the immense crocodile “thief”, who bites on to the hooked shark.

From there on, ensues a ferocious “tug of war” between the predator and man. The beast, not the man but the crocodile, measuring more than 8 feet, was not going to let go without a fight.

In the end, while frightened yet enjoying the situation along with a colleague who was also on the boat, Trutwein was forced to give up and ended up cutting the fishing line, allowing the triumphant crocodile to swim away with its stolen prize, and no one caring what the shark had to say. Rudely, you can probably hear the crocodile say “after a while”.
