This is the definition of the ultimate crossover. Although Transformers and My Little Pony belong to the same company, Hasbro, and share the quality of being two nostalgic and profitable franchises, probably nobody ever imagined that the world of Twilight Sparkle could meet the universe of Optimus Prime in a comic.

In May IDW Publishing will make that crazy undertaking come true by presenting a new series of four comics entitled My Little Pony / Transformers, which is precisely described as “the wildest crossover of Hasbro creations ever.”

The story at the center of My Little Pony / Transformers will begin when Queen Chrysalis casts a spell in search of “changeling allies” and accidentally interferes with a distant Cybertronian Space Bridge, propitiating the arrival of the Autobots and Decepticons into Equestria.

As you can imagine in this story, eventually, several battles will occur. “As the dust settles, it’s up to Twilight Sparkle, Optimus Prime, and others to overcome the menace of malevolent magic and machinery!”

The crossover of Transformers and My Little Pony will be written by James Asmus, Ian Flynn and Sam Maggs. All while the drawings will be paid by Casey W. Coller, Jack Lawrence, Sara Pitre-Durocher, Priscilla Tramontano and Tony Fleec.

“Teaming Transformers and My Little Pony has been a dream we’ve had for a long time,” explained IDW’s Editor-in-Chief John Barber. “We’re all really excited to see this mashup of characters by a mashup of creators who are honoring the legacy of both universes… and doing it in the most bonkers, fun way imaginable!”” IDW chief editor John Barber said in a statement (via Newsarama ).
