Chinatown, in San Francisco, served as the setting for the filming of a Hollywood movie this Wednesday. But how can we be sure if it took place in the Matrix or the real world?

Seen in the Kearny and Jackson area, Reeves left Nanking House several times and also approached Grasslands. People in the area had their smartphones out, hoping to take a picture of the star or maybe snatch a selfie with humanities digital savior.

It remains to be seen how they will revisit the Matrix Universe, especially considering that the arc of three films seemed to reach a definitive conclusion at the end of “Revolutions” in 2003, but here we have the first videos of Matrix 4 which have been leaked by none other than fans.

The film arrives 18 years after the completion of the original, somewhat disappointing trilogy, considering that the first film was one of the most innovative and influential blockbusters ever made, and also marks the first time that only one of the Wachowski brothers has written and directed a feature film, Lana will be the only one behind the camera here.

Obviously, there is not much we can collect from the footage and images taken, but it seems interesting that Neos outfit and overall appearance are much more informal than we are used to seeing, given the franchise established a fashion statement of black leather and sunglasses.

However, the way in which legacy characters might manage to return convincingly, given previous events, can potentially create or break the chances of Matrix 4 being a success. The project still has a long way to go to convince audiences that failure will not happen. And hopefully it is not just the latest in a series of inactive franchises that will be recovered to collect name recognition and make money quickly.
