Amazon Prime Video was excited about the success of ‘Coming 2 America’ and have decided to revive the ‘Ace Ventura‘ franchise.
According to ComicBook, the streaming platform gave the go-ahead for the development of ‘Ace Ventura 3‘.
Morgan Creek, which has released films such as ‘Ace Ventura‘, ‘The Exorsist‘ and ‘The Last of the Mohicans‘, announced today that they are working on a new film for the franchise starring Jim Carrey.
Pat Casey and Josh Miller, screenwriters for ‘Sonic the Movie‘, are on board:
“We’re pretty excited about our franchise developments with Exorcist and the Ace Ventura franchise…” Morgan Creek said in a statement to Park Circus. “During COVID, audiences have been in love and are thrilled to have beloved characters brought back with new stories. Ace Ventura will see a new day at Amazon as a major motion-picture/theatrical with the Sonic the Hedgehog writers.”
The new film in the ‘Ace Ventura‘ franchise will have Jim Carrey returning to the lead role after more than 20 years.
The plot will explore Ventura’s eccentric routine while enjoying his retirement, until he decides to return to work when he discovers that a rare lion is being threatened.
The story will be based on the real case of the lion Cecil, who was killed by a hunter in 2015.
