According to a local New York newspaper, producer Harvey Weinstein tested positive for coronavirus.
While in prison on the charges of rape and sexual abuse for which he was convicted, the 68-year-old inmate was isolated in the Wende maximum security prison.
According to The Daily Beast, the information was released by state prison officials to a news outlet from the CNHI newspapers, who also confirmed that two inmates at the detention center have already tested positive.
Weistein was sentenced to 23 years in prison for abusing Miriam Haleyi, a former production assistant on the Project Runway show, and for raping actress Jessica Mann.
Weinstein spokeswoman Juda Engelmayer said they have received no information about it so far.
