On March 20, the mythical Kenny Rogers died at the age of eighty-one. Singer-songwriter and actor born in Houston, Texas, he left an indelible mark on American culture.

One of the fundamental voices of country, he had one of his greatest successes in 1978 when he released the song ‘The Gambler‘, written by Don Schlitz in 1976, and which inspired and was the main theme for the television movie ‘The Gambler‘ ( Dick Lowry, 1980), in which the singer was the protagonist.

Precisely that theme was chosen in the wild ‘ Deadpool ‘ (Tim Miller, 2016) for the protagonist to hum as he walked over to the ill-fated body of the villain of the story.

For some reason, that idea ended up being scrapped but, thanks to Ryan Reynolds, it has been recovered in a fun and dedicated tribute to the legendary Kenny Rogers.

With Disney now being responsible for the hero, we’ll see to what extent ‘ Deadpool 3 ‘ continues to deliver rated R level action packed scenes.
