A rescue carried out by a young man was shared on YouTube which blew everyone’s mind after watching it. He risked his life to save a humpback whale from possibly dying after getting caught in a net. The clip quickly went viral on various social networks.

Sam, an eel fisherman, was with his companions near the coast of California when he spotted a huge humpback whale having difficulty swimmingq. The cetacean had been trapped in the net of a buoy so in a matter of hours or days it could have starved to death.

They were out fishing and found a white buoy that was wrapped around the whale’s tail, Nicholas, the name of the young man, said that “It was kind of splashing on the surface of the water.”

The crew stopped fishing and focused on helping the gigantic animal. Their rescue mission lasted around three hours. They called the coastguards, but they asserted there was nothing they could do.

Without support, these youngsters decided to help the whale out themselves and managed to cut the rope off, however part of it was still caught on its tail.

It was then that Sam, probably inspired by Aquaman, jumped in the water and on the third attempt was able to reach the animal’s back and cut the ropes with a knife.

Thousands of YouTube users were amazed at the bravery of these men, especially Sam, who understood that the only way that whale was going to live was if they intervened.
