This Friday Universal Pictures released the first trailer of Fast and Furious 9 during a concert dedicated to celebrate the franchise.
Fast and Furious 9 will continue the story of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) after the events of the eighth film, which disclosed that the protagonist of the franchise had a son.
But of course, Toretto will not be able to lead a quiet family life for a long time and, eventually, he will have to return to the tracks to dominate the dangerous races at full speed to satisfy the followers of the so-called “Quick Saga.”
In that sense Fast and Furious 9, which will simply be known as F9, will focus on a new threat. There will be several familiar faces, and we’re not just talking about the Dom’s “family”, but also its rivals, like the villain played by Charlize Theron.
Fast and Furious 9 will be directed by Justin Lin ( Furious 6 ) and will feature a screenplay by Daniel Casey ( Kin ). Its cast will also feature Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren, Cardi B and his name is John Cena (music blasting in the background because you just read this in the announcers voice), who they have now revealed will play Jakob.
The premiere of the film is set for May. Do not expect this to be the last installment of the saga, as there are confirmed plans for Fast and Furious 10.
