The quick reaction of diving instructor Eli Martinez saved his student from becoming a great tiger shark’s next meal in the Bahamas.
To warn divers, diving instructor Eli Martinez has posted a dreadful video in which he comes to the aid of his student at the moment when he was on the verge of being bitten by a large tiger shark.
According to The Daily Mail, Eli Martinez and Joe Wong were finishing their dive near Tiger Beach, Bahamas, when Mr Wong turned his back on a shark.
The predator recognized the opportunity and quickly approached the diver in order to bite him. But Mr. Martinez was vigilant and as an expert diver put his hand on the shark’s muzzle and pushed it with all his might.
Eli Martinez knows the sharks from Tiger Beach well, the media said. The one who tried to bite the diver is called Hook. Eli has swum with it for 10 years and is so familiar with him that he considers their relationship a “friendship”.
