The Critters return. These creatures reached the big screen during the late 80s to become one of the strangest cult sagas in history. Now, it seems that they are making a come back to the small screen with a new series.

The horror story created by New Line Cinema, science fiction and comedy will exclusively reach Shudder during this month, the AMC Networks terror broadcast service. This acquired the exclusive rights from the franchise to create “Critters: A New Binge.”

This is what we know so far about this new TV series and the return of these creatures from space. It is understood that this show will not be a remake of the original movies, but will continue in the same universe as the past four films.

As previously mentioned, this television series plans to become a horror comedy with the protagonists Critters. They came to earth with a secret mission and will eat anyone who gets in their way.

Shudder

Peter Gigardi, executive vice president of Blue Ribbon Content and executive vice president from Alternative Programming at Warner Bros. Animation, commented on the following television series:

“It’s been more than 30 years since the Critters first landed on the big screen, and we’re incredibly proud to bring this cult classic franchise back to fans. Shudder is the perfect platform for this fun, scary new take on everyone’s favorite, furry extraterrestrial threat. We are committed to delivering Shudder members the best horror content available and this time we are also bringing the laughs.” Gigardi commented .

From what can be seen in the official trailer and its revealed poster, the story will have new main characters, but the plot will be practically the same: a pair of bounty hunters are sent to Earth to capture the Critters, small aliens which have a secret mission on earth.
