One of the best aspects in the stories of superhero comics is when two characters face off, especially if one’s from Marvel and the other DC. In 1981, a comic showed a duel between Hulk and Batman. Who emerged victorious was Bruce Wayne, by defeated the Giant Emerald in an extraordinary way.
The comic that showed the confrontation between the two iconic heroes was DC Special Series # 27, written by Len Wein and designed by Jose Luis Garcia Lopez. In the comic, Batman encounters an extremely angry Hulk, deceived by the Joker to believe that Batman is an enemy.
As we all know, the strength of the Hulk is absolutely greater than that of Batman, thus, the hero of Gotham did all he could to avoid the punches and thrown by the Green Giant. At one point, the Marvel character captures batman with a bear hug, but he manages to escape and develop a strategy that would bring about a victory against Hulk.
Batman’s contingency plan involved releasing some kind of sleep gas along with a kick to the midsection to force Hulk to breathe in the chemical. Without a doubt, this is a somewhat extraordinary strategy that pays off in the end.
However, as in all good old superhero comics, Hulk and Batman form an alliance to defeat the real villains of the DC Special Series # 27 : Joker and the Shaper-of- Worlds. It is worth noting that Bruce Wayne hired Bruce Banner to work on a gamma-ray weapon to stop him from becoming the Hulk, but it didn’t work out very well.
