The universe of ” The Conjuring ” continues to expand and there seems to be nothing stopping it. This year, Annabelle will have a third film that will continue its tradition of frightening the audience, while amplifying what is known about this diabolical doll.

Director and producer James Wan has acknowledged many times that he wants to reunite all of his dark characters in the same way that Avengers has done, but that plan will have to wait at least a few years until his creations culminate their individual stories on the big screen. For now, that seems to be the fate of Annabelle, which was released for the first time in 2014.

The third Annabelle movie is scheduled to be released
in cinemas on June 28 in the UK and US and “The Conjuring 3” in 2020. The official name for the Annabelle 3 movie is: “Annabelle Comes Home.” It will be the sixth film from the franchise.

The Story Of “Annabelle Comes Home”

The official synopsis of the film, shared by Warner Bros., reads as follows:

“Determined to keep Annabelle from wreaking more havoc, demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren bring the possessed doll to the locked artifacts room in their home, placing her ‘safely’ behind sacred glass and enlisting a priest’s holy blessing. But an unholy night of horror awaits as Annabelle awakens the evil spirits in the room, who all set their sights on a new target – the Warrens’ ten-year-old daughter, Judy, and her friends.”

The previous movie of the cursed doll, “Annabelle: Creation“, from 2017, showed the birth of this diabolical toy and connected it directly with “Annabelle,” from 2014.

In the mythology of “The Conjuration,” Ed and Lorraine Warren achieve control of the malignant being that inhabits Annabelle and places the possessed doll in a supposedly safe location. However, things will get worse in this third film, which will be set shortly after the initial events from the first film of “The Conjuration,” when the doll is introduced to the saga.

James Wan gave a preview of the story at Comic-Con San Diego in 2018: “Specifically, the story will feature Annabelle in their possession not only torturing their 10-year-old daughter, Judy, but also having an influence on the other cursed objects owned by the Warrens. In fact, she will apparently be able to bring the other evil items to life Night At The Museum-style.”

Director Gary Dauberman, who also participated in that conversation, added that the doll’s ultimate goal is not to wreak havoc in a single room but to reach the 10-year-old daughter of the couple responsible for its confinement: the Warrens.

“It’s really bringing Annabelle back home… It’s the artefact room; it’s the Warren’s house so it’s sort of in suburbia. It’s a horror movie happening inside the Warren’s house where there’s this room in their basement that houses all these kinds of evil and horror. So we kind of have a lot of fun and a lot of scares with that.” Said writer Gary Dauberman.
