Several people contacted the police on the night of December 30 to report a strange sighting: an unidentified flying object in the sky over the Hawaiian island of Oahu.
In the footage shared on social media, what appears to be an oblong, shiny, blue object is seen in the sky and subsequently in the water. Several witnesses claim to have observed the object fall from the sky into the ocean.
The sighting occurred around 8:30 p.m. local time, according to the local Hawaii News Now.
A woman named Moriah told the Hawaiian media that, although she has never really believed in UFOs, upon seeing the bright blue object in the sky, she got into the car with her husband and followed it.
“I don’t know what it was. It was going very fast,” explained the witness of the phenomenon, before adding that the object did not generate any sound.
Still, according to Moriah, after chasing the object for almost three miles, the object appeared to fall into the ocean.
“We called 911 to have an officer or someone come to find out,” the woman shared.
When the police were arrived on the scene, Moriah says they saw a second light, this time white.
“The white one was smaller. It was coming in the same direction as the blue one,” said the woman before detailing that they lost sight of the object after it passed over a nearby mountain.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the regulatory body for civil aviation in the US, reported that there were no incidents or air accidents in this area at the time of the sighting.
