After generating high expectations among fans, and after the publication of several character posters, the first trailer for ‘Mortal Kombat’, the most recent adaptation, and reboot, live-action of the popular video game, was finally released.
The Warner project, which will be released both in theaters and on HBO Max, is not shying away from the blood, showing fatalities that came directly from the franchise’s games.
In the trailer we know a little more about the plot, but the highlight is the fight scenes. Starting with a rather grotesque scene showing how Jax lost his arms, the preview mainly focuses on Sub-Zero’s freeze powers and Scorpion’s current ability, who even goes so far as to say his iconic phrase, “Get over here!” Mileena, Shang Tsung and Goro also appear, as well as Sonya, Kano, Raiden, Liu Kang and Kung Lao.
Along with the launch of the trailer, a new poster was released, intensifying the game’s most popular rivalry:
Mortal Kombat is scheduled for release on April 16.
