Rainer Schimpf miraculously escaped death after a cetacean caught him briefly in its mouth. The video of the shocking moment went viral around the world on social networks.

The incredible experience is that of a diver off the coast of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. In that particular place, a whale swallowed him, but fortunately, seconds later he was spat out. Footage of the shocking moment, can be seen on a viral video on YouTube.

AFP was in charge of documenting on March 11, 2019 and stated that the man in this story Rainer Schimpf, along with his team, had gone to record a school of sardines; however, he never imagined that such activity would cause him to be inside a 49 foot, 25-ton cetacean.

Schimpf said that he felt pressure around his waist, and quickly realized what was happening. The whale had swallowed the man. “It was only a few seconds, until the fin whale realized its mistake and opened its mouth to spit me, out” he said.

The diver’s wife, Silke, along with a photographer observed the alarming incident, and documented the scene.The YouTube video has recently gone viral even though it was shared on March 7, 2019 by the Beastly channel. The footage of that moment was viewed around the world, having a great impact on countries such as the United States, Mexico and Spain.
