With the news of the sequel and our loveable internet machine, new videos from the set of ‘Matrix 4’ emerge very quickly. This time it is an action scene that seems to be unveiling a new character, perhaps equal or more powerful than Neo himself.
No doubt the news that everyone anticipated was the return of Keanu Reeves as the computer expert who discovers that his world is a simulation and becomes the One chosen to fight against the malicious cyber intelligence.
Almost two decades later we are presented with a new installment and the return of Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity. But who is jumping off the roof? We can’t see clearly in the released video, it could be stunt doubles, although there is a woman and a man that appears to be Neo.
While Reeves was already seen on the set, there are always action doubles rehearsing to make sure everything goes well without an incident. If we are allowed to venture and guess, it looks like Neo might be training a girl to take over for him. Sort of mentoring the next generation apprentice.
Unfortunately there are very few details of the plot, so speculating and theorising has not stopped since it was announced that a new series of films was in development. Certainly in the near future we will have more details about the storyline and plot.
The film will be directed by Lana Wachowski, one of the original minds of the original trilogy. While the cast will consist of Jada Pinkett Smith, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick and Jonathan Groff. ‘Matrix 4’ will premiere on May 21, 2021 in cinemas.
