The internet is in awe after seeing a short video of two Mulga snakes engaging in a fierce battle at the Scotia Wildlife Sanctuary in Australia.

The one-minute clip was posted on Facebook by the official Australian Wildlife Conservancy account and has gone viral on social media.

In the short clip, two Mulga snakes fought a fierce battle and, according to the Australian Wildlife Conservancy’s post title, they continued for over an hour.

Ecologist Tali Moyle, who recorded the incident, said that as the mating season begins, male snakes initiate fights to establish dominance.

“Mating season starts in early spring and the males start wrestling, attempting to push each other over to prove their dominance, for the right to mate with the females. Although Mulga Snakes are fairly common, it’s not too often you see this behaviour – this is only the second time I’ve seen it,” said AWC ecologist Tali Moyle, who recorded the footage.

The video has gone viral with thousands of likes and shares. In the comments section, people shared their thoughts and opinions ensuring the fight was legendary and that nature is wild.
