The son of a Tesla Model Y buyer contends that the roof of the car, straight out of a dealership, came off this Monday in full swing on Interstate 580, in northern California (USA), due to the apparent carelessness of the manufacturer’s employee when sealing that element to the chassis.
The store manager speculated that the manufacturer may have forgotten to seal the glass.
In a video posted on Twitter by Nathaniel Galicia Chien, who was inside the vehicle, we can see how the brand new electric car is traveling without the panoramic glass that the model uses as a roof.
The author of the tweet assured, in conversation with the portal The Verge, that they began to hear a lot of wind filtering inside the vehicle while they were driving back home, when suddenly the glass roof flew off, thus putting at risk other motorists.
Nathaniel and his father returned to the dealership aboard what looked like a convertible, where the manager surmised that the manufacturer may have installed the seal incorrectly or forgot to do so altogether.
Hey @elonmusk why didn't you tell us that Tesla sells convertibles now? Because the roof of our brand new model Y fell off on the highway pic.twitter.com/s8YNnu7m9L

The Verge tried to get in contact with the dealership, located in the city of Dublin, as well as a representative of Tesla, to give them the opportunity to comment on the event but did not receive a response.
