It’s happening! After years of rumors and possible contact with the actor, today the actual president from Marvel Studios confirmed that they want Keanu Reeves to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also affirmed that they have been in talks with him for several months now trying to find the perfect project for him.

During the most recent tour for the premiere of ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home,’ Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, gave an interview to ComicBook where he not only talked about the upcoming MCU movie. He also announced some news, such as the re-release ‘Avengers: Endgame’ to cinemas with new scenes, as well as the possible participation of some actors in the fourth phase of the MCU, where the name of Keanu Reeves was brought up!

2019 Is The Year Of Keanu Reeves

In case you haven’t heard, Keanu Reeves is having a busy year, ranging from the action-packed ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum,’ to his participation in ‘Toy Story 4,’ and the surprise appearance in ‘Cyberpunk 2077‘ that caused the Microsoft Theater to erupt into applause and cheers during the past E3 2019.

And if this were not enough, now the head of Marvel Studios confirms that they are negotiating with Keanu Reeves to participate in a project for the next phase of the MCU. It is not known if it will be a stand-alone film or part of a group of the upcoming superhero films like ‘The Eternals’, which  already includes Angelina Jolie.

Kevin Feige mentioned that they have been talking to Keanu Reeves for several months, but they have not yet managed to close the deal on his participation with the MCU since they want to have everything well tied up and find the right way to do it without rushing into it.

Feige compared this negotiation of Reeves with the case of Jake Gyllenhaal, who is playing Mysterio in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’, with whom he chatted with “several times” until they found the perfect role. Therefore, he says, he is convinced that they will find the ideal character for Reeves in the gigantic Marvel universe.

During the interview, Feige was also asked about the participation of actors like Donnie Yen (‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’) and Millie Bobby Brown (‘Stranger Things’, ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’), to which he mentioned that at the moment there is nothing specific for them, although he admitted that it would be fun to have them in the MCU since they are “good actors.”
