Following the extraordinary news of the production onset of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s television series, fans have remained excited by all the new features that this series will reveal. And why wouldn’t we, after how well put together the work of The Mandalorian has been, a series responsible for expanding the universe created by Lucas in the best possible way.
Now, the Jedi Master series is expected to do the same, bringing the story of how Obi-Wan turned from a small Padawan into a Jedi Master, while watching him lose his protégé to the dark side. Also, among fan expectations, is being able to see, in live-action form, some of their favorite characters from the entire saga, the Inquisitors, a fearsome race of Jedi hunters.
Despite the love fans have professed for McGregor’s portrayal of Obi–Wan in the Star Wars saga, until now the actor had not worn the Jedi Master’s cloak again. However, this will change with the arrival of the next Disney series, since it will include the return of McGregor as the person who saw Anakin Skywalker’s first strides as a Jedi.
There are still many details not known about this production; nevertheless, filming will begin in January, and by then, a flood of news about the series is expected to be released. So far, the exciting news has been the return of Anakin Skywalker to this show, and surely, other surprising cast members will join them soon.
During Disney’s Investor Day, Hayden Christensen’s participation in the series was revealed, who would return as Darth Vader. The reception fans had with this news was incredible, immediately the social networks were filled with excitement knowing that Ewan and Hayden would meet again on the set. But this information was not the only one that spread through the Internet that day.
During this presentation, some investors had the opportunity to get a first look at the series. Like any market strategy, this must be showned in advance to the people who will fund the upcoming productions, hopefully encouraging them to invest in the productions. From this snipet, ComicBook.com reports, it is possible to infer that the series will incorporate one of the most popular villains in the entire Star Wars saga: The Inquisitors.
This would be the first time these characters appear in any live-action medium. Director Deborah Chow, for her part, suggested that some of the conflicts that Obi-Wan will face are derived from his reputation as a Jedi, after Order 66. “This is quite a dark time that we’re coming into with him, just being a Jedi — it’s not safe. There’s Jedi hunters out there,”, Chow assured. This sounds like the introduction of the Inquisitor to the series.
These villains are an organization of agents whose main purpose is to hunt for Jedi, who have managed to escape the so-called Order 66. The fact that they answer to Darth Vader, any doubt about their inclusion to the live-action Star Wars universe is corroborated by the timeline, in the production of the Obi-Wan Kenobi story. These, without a doubt, will be an excellent contribution to the galaxy, since they are fearsome villains that Obi-Wan will have to face.
