Fans are definitely hyped about what Disney is doing with this series. In season 2 of The Mandalorian, Din Djarin is looking for a Jedi to train Grogu, a quest that proves difficult given the few Jedi left. In episode 5 of season 2, Mando manages to find Ahsoka Tano, but she blatantly refuses to train Baby Yoda, in a friendly way.

Nevertheless, she suggests that Mando take Grogu to the planet Tython. If we recall, it all makes sense, being that, the Great Jedi Purge has already taken place. Nevertheless, despite the efforts of Darth Vader and the Empire, a few Jedi escaped eradication. This is list which includes all the known Jedi who are still alive at the time of the series The Mandalorian, and who could potentially answer Grogu’s call.

EZRA BRIDGER

The episode “The Jedi” is a particularly important episode for fans of Star Wars Rebels , since it hints at the return of Ezra Bridger, one of the protagonists of the animated series. The fate of Ezra at the end of Star Wars Rebels is still unknown, because of that, Ahsoka Tano had teamed up with Mandalorian Sabine Wren in an attempt to find him. However, in episode 5 of season 2 of The Mandalorian,  Jedi Ahsoka Tano is actively looking for Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Many fans have also wondered why Sabine did not accompany Ahsoka Tano in this episode. For Dave Filoni, director of the last episode of The Mandalorian and creator of  Star Wars: Rebels, maybe it’s because this episode takes place before the epilogue of  Star Wars: Rebels.  Either way, if Thrawn survived, that means Ezra has a good chance of being alive too, and being a prisoner of the Grand Admiral. Five years after the events unfolding in  Star Wars Rebels, therefore, they might reveal more about the fate of Ezra Bridger.

In addition, we know that The Mandalorian series is notorious for keeping the arrival of new characters a secret. With the pre-introduction of Bo-Katan and Ahsoka Tano in Season 2, it seems likely that Ezra could be the one to answer Grogu’s call.

AHSOKA TANO

Ahsoka Tano, has already met Mando and Grogu, but she refused to train the latter. However, she deserves to be mentioned considering she is one of the few Jedi still alive in The Mandalorian. Ahsoka left the Jedi Order at the end of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, in order to find her own path.

Nonetheless, she continued to maintain a connection with the Force  and use her lightsabers. Still, she doesn’t deny being a Jedi during her discussions with Mando. It must be said that since the old Order was destroyed, we don’t know if she was involved in its collapse or not.

Nonetheless, we wonder if Ahsoka might reconsider her decision to train the green creature in the future, after all, Grogu’s life seems to have plenty of twists and turns left. We all know that the Star Wars universe can sometimes be quite surprising.

LEIA ORGANA

Although not a Jedi in the original trilogy, Leia Organa was Force-sensitive, and received Jedi training from her brother after Return of the Jedi ended. Leia and Han Solo’s son, Ben, is around four years old as The Mandalorian series unfolds. Leia herself is busy with her senarotial duties within the New Republic, the galactic government that was established after the fall of the Empire. Given her duties as a senator and mother, not to mention the hypothetical controversy of Leia’s role recasting just a few years after Carrie Fisher’s death, the appearance of Leia Organa in The Mandalorian to answer Grogu’s call seems unlikely, but again, Star Wars is full of wonders.

CAL KESTIS

One particularly interesting possibility for Grogu is Cal Kestis, the video game protagonist part of the official Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order canon. Cal Kestis is indeed one of the few Jedi to survive the purge. It would, moreover, be interesting to introduce him in The Mandalorian because he has, so far, only appeared in the video game mentioned above.

So most viewers won’t be familiar with him, and he could fit right into the theme of the series, which features lesser-known aspects of the Star Wars universe. Moreover, such an appearance would allow Fallen Order fans to find out what happened to Cal after the events of the game. This role would also not necessarily need to be a recast since Cameron Monaghan, who lent his physique to the character, could very well make an appearance in the series.

The only issue in sight: the fact that The Mandalorian takes place 23 years after the events of Fallen Order. Monaghan should therefore be slightly aged to match the timeline. He remains, however, one of the Jedi likely to answer Baby Yoda’s call.

CERE JUNDA

Here’s another character from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Cere Junda. She managed to escape the initial massacre of Order 66, but was later captured and tortured. She managed to escape by tapping into the dark side of the Force, but as a result of this event, she eliminated her connection to the Force to avoid swerving to wrong side.

She worked with Cal Kestis in an attempt to restore the Jedi Order, and it is certain that her experience would be a major asset to Grogu’s learning. Cere Junda was modeled after the physique of actress Debra Wilson, who is a voice actress, but who could potentially accept a live-action role in The Mandalorian series if offered to her.

After the events of the video game, we cannot say for sure that she is still alive, but we hope so. The series could in essence reveal where she has been.

Disney

MACE WINDU

Rumors state that Mace Windu could reappear in the Star Wars universe, and Samuel L. Jackson, for his part, has always said that he would love to reprise his role. Mace Windu is supposed to be dead in Revenge of the Sith, but after all, we just saw him fall through a window. He could have survived and then cut himself off from the Force and retreated for many years without our knowing anything. This hypothesis remains unlikely, but seeing Mace Windu deal with Grogu is something we would love to see during our existence.

Disney

LUKE SKYWALKER

The protagonist of the original Star Wars trilogy is the Jedi who might, at first glance, be most likely to meet young Grogu’s demand for training. Luke was indeed trained by the Jedi master Yoda, and he would therefore probably be very interested in meeting another creature of Yoda’s species. Yet, while Luke Skywalker might be a talented master, the show is unlikely to show him off, for two main reasons. First, The Mandalorian avoids spawning characters inherited from the original trilogy. The series tries more to stage original characters like Bo-Katan or Ahsoka Tano. In addition, the appearance of Luke Skywalker would require a redesign of the role, or image processing to enable Mark Hamill to look like he’s twenty-five years old.
