The twisted and funny creatures return after several years. HBO Max with Warner brings the story back in a totally different format.
The 80s were an important decade for the cinema since great titles emerged in that period of time. One of them was the Joe Dante directed story ” Gremlins .”
In the 90s this comedy earned a sequel, also directed by Dante himself, and although it did not achieve the same success as its predecessor, it was responsible for further increase the popularity of these twisted and funny creatures and chisile them into popular culture.
More than three decades later the story of “Gremlins” is revived and in a totally different way, apparently, in an animated series that will serve as a prequel to the 1984 film.
Warner Bros and showrunner Tze Chun was in charge of publishing the small preview of the animated series that will be titled “ Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai ”.
Not much has been revealed about Secrets of the Mogwai, except that it is set in 1920 in Shanghai, China. If we recall, in the first movie, Billy’s father (Zach Galligan) visits an antique store, in Chinatown, that’s where he meets Gizmo. This means that the prequel could bring us the story of the cute Mogwai and his friend, the owner of the store.
This series, like the return of Tiny Toons, will arrive exclusively on the streaming platform HBO Max.
