Too many rumors and official confirmations suggest that the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will open the doors to the multiverse, the narrative resource that comics and other science fiction stories have exploited. This means older versions of movie-adapted comic book characters can join the Marvel Studios franchise, and surprisingly enough, Google asserts Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Ryan Reynolds are part of the cast, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness .

As all fans know, Maguire was entrusted to play the first Spider-Man in cinema, launching the Marvel universe on the big screen in a trilogy directed by Sam Raimi. Suddenly, Raimi was hired to direct the sequel to Doctor Strange after director Scott Derrickson left production. Garfield, meanwhile, was the second Spider-Man of this century and starred in two installments of the The Amazing Spider-Man saga; sometime, Reynolds played Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and later in a reboot of the character that was much more preferred by the fans.

Although Spider-Man: Far From Home was praised as the movie that would introduce the multiverse, in the end it all turned out to be a sham. Instead, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has the word “multiverse” in its title, and this will not only be critical in the film, it could also be related to the events of Spider-Man 3 and the WandaVision and Loki series.

Now, Google seems to foresee that these fascinating crossovers between the universes of Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man and Fox’s X-Men, will come true in the sequel to Doctor Strange. See for yourself:

If you still doubt it’s valitidy, you can confirm it yourself by simply Googling the words “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness cast”.

This, however, is far from being an official confirmation, since in the past prestigious sites have been wrong. In 2018 Metacritic claimed that Silver Surfer would appear in Avengers: Infinity War and in the end, it turned out to be false.

The case for a possible return of Maguire and Garfield has already been raised before, including by Sony producer Amy Pascal, and rumors about Marvel talking to the two actors into joining Spider-Man 3 have been relatively strong in recent weeks. Shortly after these rumors became known, ET Canada contacted Sony to ask them about it and the response they received was “those rumors are not confirmed”, but they did not deny them entirely, which seems quite suspicious.

We’ll have to see if in the next few days Google removes Maguire, Garfield and Reynolds from the cast of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It could be that someone by mistake put information there that should not have been disclosed. However, fans should keep in mind that Jamie Foxx, in charge of playing Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, was already confirmed for Spider-Man 3, and not to mention that he published an image that leaves no room for doubt, about our conclusions for the multiverse.
