Spoiler Alert: The following lines contain information from the fifth episode of ‘WandaVision’, especially the ending.
As we had mentioned before here, at The Mother Of All Nerds, the reported appearance of Evan Peters is now a fact. Quicksilver’s participation in ‘WandaVision’ has confirmed the multiverse, since, the character has reappeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but he is not the same one we saw in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, that is Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
To people who have only actually seen the MCU movies, it probably just seems like another actor took over the role, as Darcy Lewis put it, he’s been “recast.” However, fans who have seen the X-Men movies know who this is and that he implies, something much bigger.
Peters played Quicksilver for a completely different franchise, one that didn’t belong to Disney until a couple of years ago, and since it’s not a Don Cheadle or Mark Ruffalo situation, even Wanda doesn’t recognize him.
Of course, the first thought that comes to mind is that we just had our first look at the X-Men in the MCU, that is to say, Quicksilver in ‘WandaVision’ has confirmed the multiverse, which is coming full-blown in ‘Spider-Man 3’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ with alternate realities.
This could be the thwarting by whoever’s behind the Hex in Westview. Yes, Wanda is the one who created the sitcom reality we’ve been watching, but it doesn’t seem to be that simple, someone else probably has something to do with this, and it’s incredibly convenient for Pietro to show up just as Wanda is about to lose control.
The character probably arrived from a different universe, which would mean that any of the X-Men that have appeared in the MCU, could show up, played by the original actors.
If Peters is indeed from another universe, and it really is Quicksilver, it opens up all kinds of questions as to how Mephisto, Kang, Nightmare, or Agatha got to Westview in the first place, any Marvel villain could have manipulated Wanda and this situation will probably continue on the sequel to Doctor Strange.
At this time, we have no real clue as to whether Quicksilver on ‘WandaVision’ will confirm the multiverse, but we will probably find out in the coming weeks.
