Temuera Moreison played the bounty hunter Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones. The character was the source of the clone army used by the Republic and who ended up in Palpatine’s service to execute Order 66.

A new announcement from The Hollywood Reporter will excite all Star Wars fans as it involves something long overdue: the return of iconic bounty hunter Boba Fett.

The retrieval of the character will be fulfilled in the second season of The Mandalorian, and he will be played by actor Temuera Morrison.

What’s important about that detail lies in the fact that Morrison played Jango Fett, the bounty hunter who debuted in Episode 2 and served as the base for the Clone Army. At the same time, for his payment he required the creation of a clone that did not age rapidly: Boba.

The character in Mandalorian armor was in two of the classic films from the franchise: The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi, being key in the capture of Han Solo and his transport to the palace of Jabba the Hutt. During Han’s rescue, Boba apparently found his end in the Sarlacc, ostensibly to be digested for a thousand years.

According to THR, Boba Fett is expected to have a small role in the second season of the series, after the character was scene in the episode “The Gunslinger”, where a mysterious figure approached a Fennec Shand (Ming- Na Wen) apparently lifeless.

Hopefully we will have an epic confrontation between Boba and Mando in the upcoming season of the Mandalorian.
