Having managed to keep Mark Hamill’s return as a young Luke Skywalker a secret in The Mandalorian, and after giving fans what they have always wanted, a series centered on Luke is already in development.

As reported by FandomWire, Lucasfilm and Disney+ are in the early stages of development of a Luke Skywalker series, which will be set in the same timeline as The Mandalorian. The series does not yet have a director or producer, and apparently, we don’t know for sure if Hamill will return as a young CGI Luke.

This Luke series report suggests that Hamill might hand over his iconic role to Falcon and the Winter Soldier actor Sebastian Stan, as had been rumored was destined to happen. The media outlet seems to query whether they should continue to use CGI for anti-aging, due to the expense and current imperfections of the technology.

To expand the story, a Luke series set in the time of The Mandalorian is needed to narrate Grogu’s future, since he separated from his daddy, Din Djarin, to become a Jedi. One of the craziest theories after the end of the second season of The Mandalorian, was what will have happened to Baby Yoda after joining Luke’s Jedi Academy, the same place in which Ben Solo had been trained.

The series has not been officially confirmed by Lucasfilm and Disney, when they do, it will join all the other series in development right now, including the Obi-Wan Kenobi series that will bring back Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader.
