With the latest ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ it is inevitable to compare, choose favorites, and make a ranking of the movies from the popular saga created by George Lucas. The franchise started in 1977 and which, to date, consists of eleven feature films, with Lucas separated from the creative work since the sale of his company to Disney.
But being a fan, enjoying a story and its characters, should not mean loving everything, without conditions. Often starting with franchise makers, fans are treated as loyal blind followers of a sect; for others, it is not at odds with a meaningful vision. If you like everything, what is your criteria? And it’s not about being a hater. You can be a fan and differentiate what you like from what you don’t. And try to reason, argue, although sometimes it is a visceral question: you love it or hate it.
