Apparently, Disney has given the green light to the idea of remaking their animated classic and they have already contacted the Spider-Man actor from the MCU for the role of Milo Thatch.
The 1990s was one of the most successful years for Disney. The company filmed great successes such as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King, which allowed it to establish itself as a benchmark in animated cinema for new generations.
With the arrival of Pixar, the technique of drawing animated movies went out of style. So movies like Atlantis: The Lost Empire did not do so well at the box office and profited only $186 million against a budget of $120 million.
However, as time went on, Atlantis became a cult classic with many fans favoring it around the world. This would be the sailing force thet will lead Disney to decree a remake of the film with actual actors.
The news that the company had plans for a live-action Atlantis: The Lost Empire was revealed last year, but many media sources claim that the ‘Mouse House’ is already generating momentum and they want Tom Holland for the role of the protagonist, Milo Thatch.
If accepted, the actor who plays Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could lead the cast of one of the forsaken Disney classics. The remake Atlantis: The Lost Empire would join the long list of live-action films the company has released in recent years which include Mulan and Dumbo.
