The actress might play Anakin’s former padawan in the second season, signifying her live-action debut.
In January this year, the rumor began to circulate that Rosario Dawson could be targeted to play Ahsoka Tano, the Jedi trained by Anakin Skywalker in the Clone Wars series, as part of the second season of The Mandalorian. In fact, the actress herself expressed her interest.
But now the portal / Film implies not only that Ahsoka will be part of the new batch of episodes, but that she will also be in charge of playing Ahsoka.
This will be the first time that the character appears in a live-action setting. Furthermore, it will connect directly to the continuation of the Ahsoka story in Star Wars: Rebels.

Keep in mind that Dave Filoni, the boss of the animated series and one of the creators of Ahsoka, is a screenwriter for The Mandalorian and also directed episodes, so it makes perfect sense to get the character back. The special plus for the story will be that we will have a former jedi on the screen, in the period after the fall of the Palpatine Empire.
I predicted this would happen…and so glad it came to fruition. Well done @disneyplus and @themandalorian …@rosariodawson IS AHSOKA TANO #ahsokalives #TheMandalorian #Season2 pic.twitter.com/6syw7GMcY8
