Robert Pattinson will star in the upcoming movie The Batman, and besides the constant rumors in the media, there are also statements from their respected colleagues, in this case Robert Downey Jr.
The latter is well known to fans because of his role as Iron Man within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Although his latest statements have nothing to do with the MCU, they have to do with the upcoming movie of The Batman.
Robert Downey Jr. recently appeared on the podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, where, among other things, he revealed that he is very interested in watching Pattinson’s performance as Batman.
On this topic Robert Downey Jr. responded “I want to see what Pattinson does.” “Oh, that’s right. He is going to be Batman now,” Rogan said. “I like that guy,” suggested Robert Downey Jr.
And although it may seem that they have worked concurrently on more than one project, the reality is that both actors have only been in one movie together, the 2010 film Love and Distrust.
Unfortunately they did not share any scenes, as the film is made up of short stories, and none of them included them in the same segment.
However, Pattinson has become a renowned actor for the quality of his performances (yes, he did more than Twilight) especially within the realms of independent films.
Just to give you an idea, thanks to the movie Good Time: he won the Gotham Award for Best Actor, the Satellite Award for Best Actor and the Independent Spirit Award for Best Actor. In the latter, he won it again this year for his performance in The Lighthouse, next to Willem Dafoe.
And considering that Batman can be a character of great complexity, depending on who interprets him, surely Pattinson will imprint some of his glittering style and intensity to the Dark Knight.
Perhaps that is why Downey Jr. is curious to see how the actor will play in the role of Bruce Wayne.
