After a saga composed of six films that had little or nothing to do with the original material, Resident Evil has earned another go at the theaters, promising established characters as the protagonists of the story and paying more tribute to the games. Judging by the new set photos that appeared on the internet, this is probably true.

A fan profile of the franchise on Twitter had access to new behind the scenes images, publishing them first hand. They disclose an extremely important location from the original game which obviously will emerge in the film: it is the Spencer Mansion, a place where the heroes go to hide in the beginning of the original Resident Evil, released in 1996.

In the games, the Spencer Mansion was located in the Arklay Mountains, Raccoon City, the place where the story of the first game takes place. The location was never actually an ordinary mansion, and had an underground laboratory where Umbrella carried out various illegal experiments, research for the creation of biological weapons. Both the Progenitor Virus and the T-Virus were created inside.

The cast of the new film features Kaya Scodelario (Maze Runner) as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp) as Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell (Upload) in the role of Chris Redfield, Tom Hopper (The Umbrella Academy) playing Albert Wesker, Avan Jogia (Zombieland 2) as Leon S. Kennedy and Neal McDonough (Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow) as William Birkin. Donal Logue (Gotham) Chad Rook (The Flash) and Lily Gao (The Handmaid’s Tale) are also in the cast.
