The Variety portal reports that Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios are working on a series that will again tell the story of Joe Exotic after the huge success of Tiger King on Netflix, which has captivated more than 10% of the platforms users. Technically it will not be based on the documentary series but on the article Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild by Leif Reigstad.

The series is being planned as an eight-episode production written by Dan Langana, creator of American vandal, who will serve as screenwriter, showrunner, and executive producer. It will tell again the life of the eccentric owner of a zoo in Oklahoma who ended up in prison for trafficking in wild animals, bad practices in his compound and for having hired a hitman to kill Carole Baskin, the owner of a tiger sanctuary that made life impossible for Joe Exotic. The project has yet to be sold to potential buyers, but it has the right names to receive the green light from a channel or platform.
