Natalie Portman will return to the Marvel Studios film universe in the fourth installment of the Thor saga, which will be titled “Thor: Love and Thunder.”

Portman had appeared in the first two films of the Nordic superhero with the role of Jane Foster, but this time around the actress will be a female version of Thor. Marvel announced the news during this year’s Comic-Con that was held at San Diego.

The Oscar winner for best actress in “Black Swan” (2010) appeared on stage and received Thor’s hammer among the applause of the audience in Hall H, the largest hall of the Convention Center.

Chris Hemsworth, the actor who has given life to Thor in the previous three Marvel films, and Tessa Thompson will accompany Portman in this film that will be directed by Taika Waititi, who took charge of the third installment of this saga in a feature film entitled “Thor: Ragnarok (2017)”.

Waititi said as he introduced Portman that “only one person” like her could play the character of Thor in the form of a woman and become the goddess of thunder.

Fans did not take long to portray Portman as the new Thor. Some of these look amazing and we are sure artists will continue to make more in the months to come.

This new installment of Thor was part of the spectacular act at the Comic-Con in which Marvel unveiled its plans for the future and in which the company also assured that “Avengers: Endgame” (2019) has officially become the biggest box office hit in history (without taking into account the inflation) by surpassing “Avatar” (2009).

In addition to Thor’s fourth film, Marvel revealed some details of future films such as “Black Widow,” with Scarlett Johansson in front; “The Eternals”, with a remarkable cast that includes Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek; “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” with Benedict Cumberbatch as the protagonist; and the new “Blade,” which will have Mahershala Ali as star.
