Johnny Depp kicks off his promised comeback in 2021 and will reappear on the big screen with his long-archived thriller, “City of Lies.”
The film will finally be released almost three years after a series of personal scandals involving the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star and his ex-wife Amber Heard came to light, placing him in the eye of a media storm.
The motion picture revolves around Los Angeles police detectives Russell Poole (Depp) and Jack Jackson (Forest Whitaker).
They both investigate the unsolved murders of rap legends Notorious BIG and Tupac Shakur amid East and West Coast hip-hop feuds in the late 1990s.
“City of Lies” will finally hit theaters on March 19 and will begin airing on television streaming platforms on April 9.
