For a television character to jump to the big screen is not peculiar. After all, a movie is a sign of the popularity of a franchise. But in recent years, Hollywood has begun to turn this concept around with more and more spin offs based on popular films. ‘Marvel Agents of Shield’ borrowed from the Marvel Universe and a TV series based on ‘John Wick’ is on its way. Now, another killer from a film will have his own series: ‘Jason Bourne’.

The announcement comes from the Variety portal, which in its article states that USA Network has ordered the first season of an alternate series from the ‘Jason Bourne’ universe. The TV show will have the name ‘Treadstone’ and its production will begin, officially, in 2019.

For those who have had a good amount of time following the ‘Jason Bourne’ franchise, the title should tell them everything they need to know about the series. ‘Treadstone’ is the name of an operation in which the CIA ‘kidnapped’ agents from the United States and erased all their memories to be turned into ruthless assassins.

Precisely, Jason Bourne (played by Matt Damon) was one of the ‘victims’ of this operation, until he regained his memory and decided to go to war with the organization that brainwashed him (this is, by the way, a summary compressed from the first three movies).

‘Treadstone’ will not focus on Agent Bourne, but instead will show different stories from its members. It is very probable that we will see the first days of this experiment and learn about some other members that accompany them in some of their missions around the world. Of course, it is certain that the series will prove that Bourne is not the first to recover from his memories and to turn against the CIA.
