During the quarantine we saw some of the strangest events in all parts of the world, especially the invasions of animals, because during the absence of people, many of them returned to their former habitats.
In Chile, after several weeks without the sighting of a wild animal, a huge sea elephant went out for a walk in the streets of a neighborhood in this country during a rainy night.
This unusual event took place in the Aysén region, in one of the streets of Puerto Cisnes, where out of nowhere, a gigantic sea elephant came out to walk before the astonished gaze of the inhabitants, who did not know where it came from.
As if it were a movie, this peculiar and enormous animal came out of nowhere and began to stroll around as if it owned the country, scaring more than one of the neighbors, who could not believe what they were seeing at that moment.
People even started throwing water at it to scare it, obviously forgetting that it was a marine animal. The beast simply ignored them and preferred to lie down on the sidewalk.

According to the testimonies of environmental specialists, several elephant seals have been seen entering the town and returning to the beach, although not of this size.
Nicolás Leiva, head of the Directorate of Environmental Management of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service, points out that appearances of elephant seals or penguins are absolutely natural at this time of year, although recently an increase in cases has been noticed, probably due to shelter in place.

Also, with the absence of humans in many places, the animals have gained the confidence to roam the cities, and this elephant seal could be the first of many that will arrive in Chile in the coming weeks.
