Universal is hell-bent on making a whole universe filled with monsters. But what was supposed to be the beginning of everything in 2017 with Tom Cruise was a failure at the box office, however with ‘The Invisible Man’ they seem to have found the correct formula. Now a new future is coming for one of their most beloved franchises, the series of ‘The Mummy’ is in the works.

According to information revealed by informant Daniel Richtman, Universal is preparing, not only a series of ‘The Mummy’, but also a movie, in fact it is said that if the series progresses as planned, Brendan Fraser will return to his beloved role.

The first time we met this favorite saga of many was more than 20 years ago. The first was launched with Brendan Fraser playing the intrepid Rick O’Connell, Rachel Weisz contributed as his love interest and later his wife Evie Carnahan in the first two, only to be replaced later by Maria Bello in the third.

The actor was out of the spotlight for a long time, until he recently returned for the TV shows ‘Doom Patrol’ and ‘Trust.’ Despite all the years that have passed, it would be interesting to see him back in a much-loved role. This of course will depend on many things before the offer reaches the right hands.

Although nothing is said officially, it is possible that the same thing that happened with ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ will take place in this franchise, where they figure out a way to rectify their mistakes from previous productions and continued with the original continuity as if nothing had happened. What most people want though, is to see Brendan Fraser fighting mummies and obviously of course, his humor.
