After many months and various fan theories, the first preview of ‘Stranger Things 4’ was finally released in which the return of one of the most beloved characters in the series was verified.

The final scene of the third season showed a jail in Russia that contained a prisoner called “the American”, in addition to a demogorgon.

Fan theories pointed out that the people who were in the cells of the Russian secret military installation were not used as food, but would be part of an experiment to discover more about the alternative dimension where the demogorgons come from, and the American is the key to that investigation.

The last chapter of the third season showed how Hopper looks for a way to close the portal of the other dimension, for this he has to exploit the machine that opens the Upside Down dimension, however, in doing so he fails to leave in time and disappears, so it is somewhat surprising that he is still alive.

By dialing the phone number 618-625-8313, fans can hear Murray Bauman give Joyce a message, saying “Hi, you have reached the residence of Murray Bauman,” the message begins. “Mom, if this is you, please hang up and call me between the hours of 5 and 6 p.m. as previously discussed, OK? If this is Joyce, Joyce, thank you for calling, I have been trying to reach ya. I have an update. It’s about, well, it’s probably best if we speak in person. It’s not good or bad, but it’s something.”

Now with the release of the first preview from ‘Stranger Things 4’ we can see that Hopper is actually alive and is a prisoner of a Russian secret installation, doing forced labor.

The teaser was published on February 14 in all Netflix accounts worldwide , under the title “From Russia with love“, so this update of the character’s whereabouts is Netflix’s way of giving us a Valentine’s gift.
