Henry Cavill is reportedly in talks to join Marvel. How will DC fans react?

2021 has started with everything going well for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, since this last weekend they premiered their first series, ‘WandaVision’, and days before it was announced that Chris Evans, who played ‘Captain America’ from the outset of this new era of films, is very close to reinterpreting the character. This past weekend more news arrived that may be to the liking of fans.

According to information from Daniel Richtman, a well-known user who reports industry news before anyone else, Marvel Studios is extremely interested in Henry Cavill playing ‘Captain Britain’, a character that has its origin in a 1976 comic. He will be joining the rest of the characters and not with a solo storyline, to ease his introduction into the saga.

The actor is one of the most beloved personalities in pop culture, and that affection increased when he embodied the best superhero, ‘Superman’ in the DCEU (DC Expanded Universe). He made his debut in ‘Man of Steel’, then made ‘Batman v. Superman’ and ‘The Justice League’. He is considered by many fans as the best Clark Kent, but everything can change.

Cavill is currently does not have any major projects for DC, except for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, to be released on HBO Max in March of this year. In the meantime, this Marvel rumor puts him in a bind, as the MCU is, at the moment, exploring new avenues. So it’s not crazy to think ‘Captain Britain’ is part of their plans.
