‘Mission Impossible’ fans continue to receive good news. We already know that Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie will return for the next two installments of the saga, which will be shot at the same time, but what we did not know is McQuarrie’s intention to bring Henry Cavill and Alec Baldwin back.
According to the information from The Hollywood Reporter, the director of ‘Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation’ and ‘ Misión Imposible: Fallout’ does not rule out calling Cavill and Baldwin in the future, in a return that would surprise fans from the franchise, since his characters died in the previous installment of ‘Mission Impossible.’ Or did he?
Baldwin debuted in the fifth installment of the franchise, in which his character went from antagonist to ally, while Cavill had a premiere in the most stellar as August Walker in ‘Fallout,’ causing a sensation among the fans from the saga. However, many followers of ‘Mission Impossible’ will be asked how McQuarrie will manage to bring back two characters who are dead, something that does seem an impossible mission.
Although it is too soon to draw conclusions, The Hollywood Reporter points to the possibility of using flashbacks, which would make the plot of the next installment of ‘Mission Impossible’ overlap with the events we saw in ‘Fallout.’ We’ll have to wait and see how Cruise and McQuarrie manage to surprise the audience a seventh time. At the moment, we only know that Cruise will return in the summer of 2021, if Cavill and Baldwin will return with him, still remains to be seen. The bigger question is, will the stash return?
