While we are waiting for the Game of Thrones spin-offs, HBO has already announced three more productions from the world of George RR Martin.
While we wait for the long-awaited premiere of House of the Dragon and the second spin-off being produced, Tales of Dunk and Egg that will take place 90 years before the events of Game of Thrones, HBO confirmed that are making three more spin-offs.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, there are three prequels, two of which will be titled 9 Voyages and 10,000 Ships. The first will focus on Lord Corlys Velaryon, better known as The Sea Snake, who is also the head of the house Velaryon. This character is also part of the series to premiere in 2022, House of the Dragon.
On the other hand, 10,000 Ships will be based on the story of the warrior queen, Princess Nymeria, an ancestor of House Martell who founded the kingdom of Dorne (where Oberyn Martell, the character played by Pedro Pascal, came from). Its narrative will take place 1,000 years before what happened in Song of Ice and Fire.
The third project will be set in Flea Bottom, the poorest district of the capital of the kingdom of Westeros, King’s Landing. Characters like Davos Seaworth and Gendry Baratheon were born there.
These prequels are in expansion to House of the Dragon and the aforementioned Tales of Dunk and Egg. These productions are brought forth thanks to the success of the original 7-season series, probably not the 8-th season of Game of Thrones, which partake way after the expected new productions.
Most of the fans were left with certain doubts, or rather wanting to see or know the history of before the war of the 7 kingdoms to have a better grasp of the world of George RR Martin.
It is interesting to note that some reports state, once the great author has completed writing his version of the final accounts to Game of Thrones, the 8th season will be remade according to his summary.
