Few films as representative of the mythical portion of the eighties like GREMLINS, the epic movie directed by Joe Dante and produced by Steven Spielberg, which years later had a continuation (inferior but also very fun).
The website Variety reports that Warner Bros. Television and Amblin Television are developing the animated Gremlins series that will be broadcast through the new WarnerMedia streaming service.
Although there are still no precise details, it is said that the series will be a kind of prequel to the films since it will be centered on Mr. Wing when he was young in his adventures with Gizmo. In case you do not remember, Mr. Wing was the Chinese grandfather who in the original films was played by Keye Luke.
It is mentioned that Tze Chun will be involved as a scriptwriter and executive producer, he is recognized for writing and directing films such as “Cold Comes the Night” and “Children of Invention”, as well as participating in series such as ” Gotham” and “Once Upon a Time.”
There is still no release date for this animated series but we will bring you the information when it is revealed. By the way, a couple of years ago it was revealed that Chris Columbus had already written a script for the third movie but to date, it has not happened.
