Fishermen filmed themselves as a great white shark pulled their boat after it bit the hook, The event lasted almost an hour.

A fishing trip in San Francisco Bay took an unexpected turn. After a group of men felt a catch bite the hook, then to their surprise, realized they had hooked an approximately 10 foot shark, reports the San Francisco Gate. The fishermen then raised the anchor and let the animal pull them while trying to bring it to the surface.

It took almost an hour before the shark was released, dragging them over 1.8 miles.

The footage shows the fishermen the moment they realize they’ve caught a big shark. When it reaches the surface, they start to applaud, someone even exclaiming: “It’s a great white!”.

The fishermen finally decided to release the predator and cut the line to let it slip away with the hook.
