During the day today Warner Bros. and NetEase announced a new game based on The Lord of the Rings for mobile devices.
The game based on the JRR Tolkion books, will be called The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War, and will focus on the citizens of Middle-Earth.
In a press release they announced, “a strategic partnership for the development of The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War, a new officially licensed mobile strategy game based on the iconic trilogy of books by J.R.R. Tolkien. Set in the Third Age of Middle-earth, this latest title will recreate the fictional world of Arda in a visually stunning and completely faithful rendition, with iconic characters and locations from the original trilogy.”

At the moment it is unknown what type of game it will be, but the first promotional image showing Minas Tirith besieged by Sauron’s armies was released.
